How-to: Look after your skin through Pregnancy

All too often women wait to see the first signs of their gorgeous pregnancy bump before using products. This, unfortunately, is too late. While some of us are blessed with beautifully elastic skin to accommodate pregnancy, most will need to start applying product as soon as they know they’re expecting.

Whether you choose an oil, butter, cream, lotion or a combination of all four – whatever it is, get slathering.

Skin needs to be deeply nourished and hydrated before it starts to stretch, so provide it with all it needs to move and grow comfortably by moisturising everything from the neck down.

This includes:

  • Neck
  • Décolleté
  • Bust
  • Arms (front and back)
  • Lower back and bum
  • Bump
  • Inner thighs and legs

Covering every inch in a generous layer of product, here our suggestions will keep skin happy and healthy from week one all the way through to week 42:

For tired, swollen legs and ankles, Cooling Body Moisturiser is the perfect antidote after a long day on your feet. With Menthol to cool and ease restless legs and Hyaluronic Acid and Lavender to soothe and nourish, legs are left refreshed and relaxed.

Nourishing Body Oil is safe to use in both pre- and post-pregnancy, and can even be applied to baby once they arrive. Deeply nourishing, this pure, unscented oil regenerates and smooths – helping to improve the appearance of stretchmarks and scar tissue. Apply to damp skin morning and evening on its own or under a body moisturiser for maximum impact.

A really good body butter like our Smooth and Firm Body Butter should be your staple bathroom product. Used all over first thing in the morning and throughout the day when required – pair up with the Nourishing Body Oil come evening for intense nourishment.

However, you can ramp up your evening routine even further using Pink Hair and Scalp Mud for the ultimate moisture-packed punch. So much more than a haircare product, Red Clay and Apricot Kernel Oil intensively nourish the skin leaving it smooth and supple.

If you’re suffering from hormonal breakouts, bring some balance to your skin with Regenerating Face Oil. Containing Frankincense to stimulate cell renewal and Carrot Oil and Avocado to enhance skin elasticity, your complexion will be left bright and settled.

However, don’t give-up or forget to keep going after baby is here. Not only will you extend that pregnancy glow, but the beautiful aromas of our ingredients and essential oils will help ease body and mind, and provide vital ‘me-time’.
