As September is a month of learning, we at ESPA would like to begin with one of the basics of taking care of yourself. For us, this starts with hydration. Not only does it equate to having beautiful skin, but staying hydrated can affect your overall well being. Everyone knows that it is important to stay hydrated, but not everyone knows the factual impact that water can have on us. Skincare products keeps your skin hydrated, but many ingredients cannot penetrate the deepest layers of your skin. For beautiful and radiant skin, you need to incorporate a balance of water and hydrating skincare products.
One main benefit to staying hydrated is that doing so flushed toxins out of your body, including impurities in your skin. Increasing your water intake is very important for optimal kidney function as it helps to reduce the concentration of urine which prevents the formation of kidney stones and other medical conditions. Good hydration also aids digestion, circulation and absorption. This in turn affects your mindset because it keeps you healthy and energised and able to be more productive.
Try infusing your water with fruits such as lemons, berries, lime, mint, for an elevated flavour and even more vitamin and antioxidant benefits.
Now we understand the benefits of staying hydrated, it needs incorporating into your working life. Mindful Hydration involves the technique of walking away from your desk or closing your emails and getting some water, which is your anchor. Simply breathe deeply and recognise the feeling of the glass in your hand, the water in your mouth. Try to focus your mind and not let it wander from your task. By performing this for 90 seconds, you can positively enhance both your physical and mental health.
