How-to: Apres Ski Skincare

After a day of shooping down the slopes, hot chocolate in hand and snow-capped boots kicked off at the door, your skin will begin to reveal that it didn’t enjoy the rush of icy air quite as much as you did.

While it’s unusual for much of your skin to be fully exposed when on a winter sports holiday, it’s important to take extra measures to care for your skin in these unfamiliar, harsh conditions.

Here are some of our skin saviour products to use on piste:

Optimal Skin ProDefence SPF15 – It’s surprisingly easy to get sunburnt while skiing, so remember to apply SPF to the face at the start of each day, and take a little with you in your day bag at the top of the run.

As you would for your beach holiday, raise the priority of an SPF when packing for a winter wonderland.

Skin Rescue Balm – Chapped lips and knuckles can be uncomfortable and distract from the fun. Our beautifully scented, multifunctional Skin Rescue Balm will help soothe, nourish and protect dry skin all over the body.

Nourishing Lip Treatment – Keep lips hydrated and revived when you’re enjoying some downtime. Often forgotten about as part of a skincare routine, your lips are always in need of hydration and protection too.

Containing Raspberry, Pomegranate Seed Oil and Gentian Leaves, the treatment will smooth, prevent cracking and chapping and minimise fine lines.

Optimal Skin Introductory Collection – Pack a rich moisturiser in your suitcase to nourish skin after a long day outdoors. The stung, tight skin on your face will need the extra hydration and any redness will be eradicated and soothed. Our Optimal Skin ProMoisturiser is suitable for all skin types. Use with Optimal Skin ProSerum for added hydration and a beautifying boost.

Our Optimal Skin Introductory Collection features the full range in perfect travel-sized editions, ready to pop in your suitcase. They are also suitable to pack in a carry-on for those shorter, spontaneous trips.

Overnight Hydration Therapy – Enriched with soothing Lavender and Vitamin E, this beautifully hydrating mask will ensure you arrive back home with that coveted holiday glow.

Apply just before bed for a boost of overnight moisture and awaken with beautifully nourished skin, ready for another day on the slopes.

ESPA Travelling Tips

  • Make a check list before you pack and tick things off before you go — this will ensure you’ll be organised and won’t have to do any last minute packing or forget anything.
  • Keep your eye on the weather and check in advance what it’s going to be like when you’re there. This will allow you to adapt your skincare choices wisely.
