SPF

What does SPF stand for?

SPF stands for Sun Protection Factor, it measures how well a sunscreen protects your skin from UVB rays, which cause sunburn.

What is SPF?

SPF is a measure of how much UVB protection a product provides. Higher SPF numbers indicate more protection when applied correctly.

How long does SPF last?

SPF typically protects skin for around 2 hours. Reapply every 2 hours or more frequently if swimming, sweating, or towelling off.

What does the SPF number mean?

The SPF number indicates how much longer it would take for skin to burn with protection compared to without. For example, SPF 50 allows 50 times longer sun exposure than unprotected skin.

Does SPF stop you from tanning?

SPF reduces UV damage but doesn’t completely block tanning. It helps protect your skin while still allowing some exposure to occur over time.
