Skincare in your 30’s

Hopefully by now you have a simple routine of cleanse, tone and moisturise that you’ve been using through your 20′s. However, now you’re in your 30′s it’s time to review your skincare routine to see if the products you’re using are still right for you.

Although you may know your monthly or seasonal triggers for breakouts and what your skin type is, life in your 30’s brings a whole set of new challenges that can affect your skin. Increased pressures at work, running a house and looking after young children for example, can all take their toll.

Therefore, always here to help, here are our tips to supercharge your routine and prevent those tell-tale signs.

1) Use multi-tasking products like our Optimal Skin ProCleanser daily to remove make-up and impurities as well as gently removing dull skin cells. It’s also great as a mask when you’re in a hurry – simply leave on for 15 minutes.

2) Exfoliate once or twice a week to promote cell turnover and prevent dullness. For sensitive skin mix Nourishing Cleansing Balm or Hydrating Cleansing Milk with Refining Skin Polish to comfort skin and effectively smooth and renew.

3) After exfoliating and sweeping the face with Hydrating Floral Spafresh, apply a Face Treatment Oil or serum such as Optimal Skin ProSerum to deeply nourish, repair and regenerate.

4) Sunlight is the biggest culprit for causing the most visible signs of ageing so use a daily SPF like Optimal Skin ProDefence to protect skin from UV rays.

5) The eyes always give away our age, so drink plenty of water to help prevent fine lines and dark circles. For the most sleep deprived, soak cotton pads in Soothing Eye Lotion and place over eyes to soothe puffiness and signs of tiredness and use an eye serum (sparingly) like Lift & Firm Intensive Eye Serum alongside your eye moisturiser.

6) Start treating yourself to facials to combine some much needed ‘me-time’ with results focused skin treatments.

7) And breathe! One of the most effective ways to manage stress or tension, Susan Harmsworth says, “This is one major de-stressing tool I use. Breathe slowly and deeply, in through the nose, out through the mouth. As well as being good for your wellbeing, it’s also good for skin, delivering more oxygen to it.”
